Yukyo Takamura’s Retrospective Exhibition

Content
Mr. Yukyo Takamura was born in 1867 (3rd year of Keio Era) and studied Japanese painting at Shijoha art school during Meiji, Taisho and Showa Period. His flower, bird, mountain and water painting is Southern School style and natural, and he was a legitimate traditional artist of Japanese painting.
He also contributed to the arts and crafts development, worked for the Hokuriku Painting Association, was committed to the foundation of the Kinjo art circles and brought up many junior fellows. He was also a haiku poet and tea master, a refined person who added art in all aspects of his life. He died at the age of 88, in the spring of 29th year of Showa Period (1954), when he celebrated his eighty-eighth birthday.

Modern African Art Exhibition

Content
Uburanga Arts Studio is a 20’s artists group who works in Rwanda, Africa. These young artists are committed to the reconstruction and development of their home country struggled with civil war.
This exhibition is mainly focused on Richard Karekeji Safari works, one of the group members. You can also see others Uburanga Arts Studio members works.
Their hope is to transmit to Japan the peace through their creation.
During the exhibition, there will also be hold a workshop on Rwanda. If you are interested in modern art, Rwanda or in the concept of this exhibition, don’t miss it!
