The new Social Security and Tax Number system, nicknamed ‘My Number’, started in January 2016. From October 2015, a notification about your ‘Individual Number (My Number) should have already been dispatched to you. The Individual Number will be required for administrative procedures related to social security, taxation, and disaster response.
