Residents living in Nanao as well as in the Noto Area are welcome to join our classes. We also offer various events throughout the year to promote international exchange between local citizens and foreigners. Our effort for the past 25 years was recognized by the nation and we were the first in Ishikawa Prefecture to receive the Commendation of Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications (Internationalization Division), and the Commendation has since become a great encouragement for our Society. |

●Established in 2003.
●The Japanese classes we offer are run by volunteers and they are comparatively smaller in size. Most of the students are exchange students and most of which stay in Japan for less than one year, therefore the students of the classes change quite frequently.
●The Japanese classes are divided into Beginners and Intermediate Level. Only a small number of students participate in each class, so we give our greatest efforts to design a curriculum best fit the needs of the students. In addition, since the students rarely have the opportunity to interact with local citizens in their daily lives, we offer various activities for students to promote further international exchange between the students and the local residents.
●Furthermore, SWITCH Uchinada holds the Speech Festival every year with Uchinada City, and this year there are 4 students from our Japanese classes who will be participating in the Festival. |

Established in 1998.
Taught by volunteers, the Japanese classes are run by the Hakusan International Exchange Association as one of the international exchange activities. The Association also offers "Japanese Teaching Volunteer Seminar" every year to ensure the quality and quantity of volunteers available for the classes.
Besides the Japanese classes, the International Salon also offers various events that are organized by the students themselves, including the "Country Knowledge Seminar", where students will introduce the culture and customs of their origin; and the "Foreign Language Seminar", where students will teach their own language to local citizens (students who hold these events are also volunteers). |
| Message |
Since the Japanese classes are managed by Hakusan International Exchange Association, foreign nationals living in Hakusan City will have the priority in taking the classes. The classes on Saturdays and Sundays are especially popular that currently it is unfortunate for us to say that we do not accept any new students living in other cities and towns for those classes. There is a high possibility that you will be put on the waiting list even if you try to reserve a spot for the classes. |
